Post #71 My Humps

Okay, when I added the ponytail to this outfit I totally realized I was channeling Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas circa 2005 in the "My Humps" video.   The weird thing is I didn't subconsciously make this outfit after the video at all, I ripped it off another avatar I saw in Maitreya.  I asked her where she got her pants and shoes and she told me.  She had different hair and sunglasses, but the shoes, pants and top were her idea.

I went to Mother Goose's store and noticed some new skins were up on the freebie board.  I was able to pick up this version of Linda with the garish pink lipstick and blue tattoo.  Now I paid 1000L for the Giselle skin from Glam Affair and let me tell you, the best thing about the skin is the 'face detail' layer.  It's meant for that skin but works in a pinch over any other skin that isn't too far in shade variance.  It has freckles so it's super cute.  The lips I got at Mother Goose's for like 60L/12 pack and they are nice. I was able to salvage this skin with two tattoo layers.  I know a lot of people probably like the blue thingie over the nose and lip color.  I'm just not that into it.

My thighs are so fat! lol.  I love the new jewelry at faMESHed from Auxiliary.  It's mesh and there are lots of choices.  Looking forward to that store opening.

I was looking for a village setting for my pix and found this seaside town.  It was really nice and I wasn't really sure what it was till I got on some pose stands and started losing limbs.  I then realized I was at an amputee awareness sim.  I was hoping it wasn't something kinky, and it wasn't.  It was actually really interesting and educational.

Post #63 Good Girl/Bad Girl

Yay!  Check out my athletic abilities!  I'm jumping for joynessity.

The week flies by so fast I totally forgot it was Fifty Linden Friday.   Wait, I mean I forgot it was FLF at midnight!   Back in the day I used to wait and wait for an hour getting excited for the clock to strike.  Half the people were never out anyway, but it took up a couple of hours of my time waiting and TP'ing from place to place on the list.  Wow, never realized what a loser I was (and still am apparently) to stay home Friday nights to shop online for an avatar haha!

The winner of FLF this week is definitely Teef*y!  Love these new tanks... I teleported into the store and saw a display for the two on sale and another display for a bunch of other colors.  I thought they would be super short, like a cutoff top.  I saw an invisible person standing there, with nothing but prim shorts and a prim wife beater in white, I was going to send her a message asking where she got the tank from, then I realized, holy crap it's the designer herself, and she's wearing this weeks prize, lol.  She had not set the price yet because I clicked on it.  She also got rid of the tops on display that weren't part of the sale.  I musta given her the weirdlies standing right next to her, waiting.  It was kinda funny.  I did shout "these tanks are radical!" right as she got booted.  She must think I'm mentally ill.  Well I am sorta.  Just wanted to give her a shoutout for making a really nice top!

So of course I had to run to FaMESHed to get the shorts, I had seen them already but couldn't make up my mind on colors.  The purchase of these tanks made it a lot easier for me thank goodness.  I got a darker pair of shorts than I wanted, but I remember that I have light shorts from Collabor88 a few cycles ago that had tights, so yeah, I got the darker ones.

I like this whole good girl/bad girl look.  Although my good girl has tats, my bad girl smokes, in front of churches no doubt!  So yes, I can definitely tell which is which.

Burley has some pretty neat hair.  I don't know if it's super popular with everyone, most of the people I see when I go shopping there are probably controlled by younger people.  I mean I see a lot of the "invisible pony rider" types there.  I have nothing against them but some people definitely do.  I think these are older people.  I am sure this is not 100% but a lot of times I can tell the general age of someone in Second Life.  Even the ones that are dressed really, provacatively, shall we say?  This has nothing to do with my post.  It's just me babbling.

 I like the slight 'fetal alcohol syndrome' look of this skin.  I look bitchy and it's rad.  I was gonna take off the sweater for the pictures because I know they don't sell it anymore.  It's a good sweater.  I remember when Sweetest Goodbye was a really big store with expensive stuff.  Now it's another store, Monso I think, and there is a small section of select SG stuff in there.  I went there yesterday to see if this sweater was still there but it's not.  They had a cute mini skirt too to go with it.  I guess mesh killed the prim like video killed the radio star.  Or maybe the SG people just decided they didn't want to have clothes anymore.  Anyways, I bought lots of their stuff when they closed.  I don't do anything on Second Life but take take pix and blog so the clothes are kinda useless to me since they don't exist anymore.

Omg I remember when I saw these shoes at Aoharu back in the day.  The picture they have of them makes them look simply ethereal.  They are pretty nice but don't turn me into an instant gel on the lense angel.  I had to remove the invisaprims from the shoes a while back and find an alpha layer that fit.  Think I'm using my Maitreya one.  I ike the Whippet & Buck skirt, even if it's primmy (is it just me or does the name of this store sound extremely DIRTY)

Post # 55 Red Hot

 Burley released three new female hairs yesterday and three new male hairs.  The female ones were mesh, not sure about the boys.  I picked up two of them.  I like the roots so I got that pack, it's really a sweet deal because it's the same price as a normal hair pack but with blonde, brown, red, you name it colors in it.  Much cheaper than a fatpack but with lots of choice.

The new Cold Logic offering for the One Voice event going on is this awesome black and white shirt.  I have blogged this style now a total of three times lol.  It's great.

 I saw a girl wearing these red jeans in Burley and asked her where she got them, Vive9 she said so I TP'ed down there and picked up a red pair.  I really like them.  I don't really know if the shoes are a good choice but they are black so they will do.

I love that the jeans come with two butt choices.  I don't know which one looks better really.  I do wear the smaller one but I'm used to having a flat ass.

Need to do more squats...

Post #24 Updating Old Clothes

I started making "outfit" folders back in 2009.  I have accumulated many many outfits for different occasions.  Around the summer of 2009 I went through a bit of a neko phase.  Being the puritan I am, I opted for the safe happy kitty look.  I remember buying this outfit (ears and tails not included) from League.  Ooooh I saved up for this sucker.  I was really happy once I got it and wore it to a few neko contests at some clubs (where I seemed to get all my money from), and around the grid while shopping.  After a few months, the fascination with the style ended, plus I do hate cats, and the outfit was all but forgotten.

I was going through my folders today and I got into the costumes section and put this baby on.  It's so cute.  But I will never wear it again.  I do still really like the dress, even though the skirt is flexi, so I decided to give it a makeover.  I still love that old 69 hair, but it's also way too flexible.  Flying everywhere all carefree...

I toned it down and made it something I would not be weirded out to wear in public.  I can't believe I used to think those big arse butt kickin' boots were the bomb back in the day.  I also thought being 7 feet tall with too long arms looked normal too, so I'm not sure where my head was.  I'm sure a few years from now, if I'm still on SL I'll be looking at my clothes now shaking my head with laughter.

I might wear this once and a while if I find a forest...

Looking for beaches and bathing suits....

I live in Canada, and it's only March, but feels very much like spring is here.  While it's not exactly bikini weather in my first life, it's definitely time to bring out the beachy bikini look in my second life.  Looking for a spot to drop my basket of goodies (sunscreen, croissants, havarti cheese, cream puffs and meth), I had a hard time finding a good spot to take pictures without getting accosted by raving horny naked men.  After avoiding any place that had 'free sex' or 'nude beach' in the description I finally found a great place with tasteful landscaping and safe spots.

I love this gold Boho bikini by StarFashion.  The pattern is well done and I love that it has fabric attachments on the sides and the jewels right in the middle of the top.  Just makes it more realistic in my eyes - more 3D, which is rare for bikinis as there isn't cuffs and collars on them..I guess I'm a prim whore.  I love anything with the word "boho" in it and this definitely has a really cool free spirited feel to it.  This Bajika hair from Burley went so well with the bikini, the headband added to the exotic look.

Once upon a time all I owned were Dutch Touch skins (before that ((circa 2009))I used to wear Laq skins which I can't even deal with now, they seem so different and cartoony).  Then I discovered Mynerva and Atomic and kind of forgot about my Dutch Touch, all 8 billion lindens worth of them.  Lately I've had a bit of a nostalgia thing for them.  Dutch Touch really "made" Anahata.  The first freebie I got from Iki way back became the skin I didn't take off for months.  I remember going to the store and spending lots of time wearing the demos, carefully deciding which set I wanted to buy.  River was the first set.  I updated to V2 during a sale.  I touch Dutch!
