Post #68 Cold Logic in Nice Colors

So I picked up these little tied at the side tshirts at the Cold Logic sale.  I have a pink one with a peace sign and a rusty looking plain one.  I like these too.  I like these colors particularly.  Cold Logic has a lot of pink and turqouise and coral.  Not my fave in the world of fashion.  Too joyous for my carmudgeony soul.

I like this Magika hair because it looks like I've developed a very large tumor at the back of my head.  Just kidding!  I actually wore the large size because for some reason I don't have the medium size and the small was giving off all these warning signs and made me look like I had severe alopecia except for some strands in the front.  Maybe it was the sim I was on, maybe I screwed up the hair, nonetheless, it's sexy hair and I like it - even if it's BIG!

This hair is okay too. I don't know why I bought the bi and tri color pack.  I'm not really enjoying the look of dipping my hair in eggs or something, but it's the only shade that would go with the red.  The pink and blue were too soft for the colors and I just dislike black/red/brunette hair these days.

This romper is the best ever!  I have the green striped one and was super excited to see it in red.  It looks so cute and fits so well.  I did go to some danceclub last night in it and some guy sent me a picture of myself missing the actual outfit but showing invisibility where the alpha's were.  Not sure if these glitches that happen where people don't see what you are wearing properly are their issue or mine.  I mean I saw me fine, he didn't see me fine.  Does that mean I have to reboot or rebake or change my outfit because everyone else sees me this way?  I don't know.  All I said was hey, at least my boobs aren't showing!!  He didn't talk to me after that.

Post #67 What Excited Me This Week

K first off i just realized i had the title of this post as what EXITED me this week.  ack!  This is what happens when I blog at 3am.

Half off sale at Cold Logic since last Wednesday.  I went there and didn't even buy anything.  But yesterday I got this note saying some of their best items had been recolored.  Well.  I went there again, and picked up a bunch of stuff!  I will do three posts covering what I bought.  I know the sale ends tomorrow (Wednesday) but still, wow.  Great prices even when they are normal really.

 Love these nails & rings from Candy Nail.  Wore them before.  They come with the bracelets.

Haven't been blogging much, because it's summer and all.  Soon fall will come and life will return to normal.  Still working the Skinnery skin from the whatchamacallit fair... (

Post #58 Updating a White Dress...

I think I've mentioned before that I own a lot of Truth hair.  This one is fairly older, and I really wore it a lot with sluttier dresses to 'class them up'.  Like this one I have here circa 2010.  Now to me a 'slutty' dress is basically a short dress that shows cleavage.  I have nothing against slutty dresses, I just need to add a serious element to them.  Can't look too provacative.  I do enough of that in real life, so in my second life I'm right prim and proper.  Now you know why I'm so boring!

So I had an older skin and hair on this outfit, and the dress was not mesh of course.  The shoes are prim Maitreya shoes and I still use them.  I SALVAGED THEM!  

My new version I just made some small adjustments to.  Got rid of the other jewelery for one.  I don't even know where to get those pieces or if they even still exist.  The dress mooooves with me.  And the hair is brand new at the hair fair.

I don't find this dress slutty at all.  The hair is.  Just kidding.  The Glam Affair skin is my equal for Dutch Touch 'agewise'.  I feel both skins make me look like I'm in my early thirties.

So this is my 'updated look'.  New mesh wear, new hair & skin.

Post # 55 Red Hot

 Burley released three new female hairs yesterday and three new male hairs.  The female ones were mesh, not sure about the boys.  I picked up two of them.  I like the roots so I got that pack, it's really a sweet deal because it's the same price as a normal hair pack but with blonde, brown, red, you name it colors in it.  Much cheaper than a fatpack but with lots of choice.

The new Cold Logic offering for the One Voice event going on is this awesome black and white shirt.  I have blogged this style now a total of three times lol.  It's great.

 I saw a girl wearing these red jeans in Burley and asked her where she got them, Vive9 she said so I TP'ed down there and picked up a red pair.  I really like them.  I don't really know if the shoes are a good choice but they are black so they will do.

I love that the jeans come with two butt choices.  I don't know which one looks better really.  I do wear the smaller one but I'm used to having a flat ass.

Have you ever been to Inspire Space Park?  It's a pretty cool place where they play mellow chill music and have lots of spacey things floating around.  You can do tai chi, or space ballet or meditate.  I find it really relaxing to hang out there.  It's always packed with different kinds of people.  I saw a topless goat girl there today when I took these pictures.  LoL.

Love these mesh harem pants I procured from a store I had never heard of but had seen on a freebie blog.  I love finding little things like this.  They are really nice and I would have bought more styles but it looked like you could only buy the fatpack of them for 1500L.  I know people are always 'ewwing' the long hangy pants but I like some of them.  I like these.

Love the new hair by Lelutka.  I like the way it stays close to my head. So many hairs are so glam and puffy.  I do have a long hair like this  (not mesh) from Boon but it's so outdated.  I used to wear it a lot.  I just can't wear the flowy hairs anymore, not the way they get lost in my chest.  I love this hair so much.

I was going to blog this outfit with a pair of Aleida pants I bought a long time ago.  I zoomed on over there to see if they still had them and noticed the had a big closing out sale going on, and my old pants where gone.  So I thought what the heck, and bought me a few pairs of mesh dress pants for super cheap!

Hey they matched my hair!  I got pink shoes (also at the close out sale) and teleported to Tram.  I love their build it's absolutely gorgeous and I like to take pictures there.

I do like this tube top/jacket set from Cold Logic, but I don't wear it so often.  I bought the fatpack, but I kinda regret it now, as I think the other fatpack set colors are nicer.  And it's kind of over dressy for me.  I think in the future I can see myself wearing the jacket with different tops and the tubetop by itself or with a different jacket.  Just to mix it up.  The skin I got at Collabor88  is awesome of course, and the pink eyeshadow matched the outfit really well.

Post #43 Yoga

 Last week I bought this cute little mesh outfit from Cold Logic.  I've been reading a lot about how some mesh items 'bend' weird, so I took this item out for a test run on my yoga mat.  Except for the little stretch in pattern you see there in the leg, it bent really nice and I could do all my moves without looking super twisted and deformed.  Cold Logic is good quality mesh, this is my conclusion (like I already didn't know!)

I got this "Rehab Retreat" from Cheeky Pea.  I kinda giggle at the name.  I think, when they mean 'rehab' do they mean like drug or alcohol rehab?  Or 'rehab' like you busted your neck doing a bad yoga pose and this is a gentle rehab type set of yoga poses.  I do think too much.  I also think this is one of the most relaxing things I've ever watched my avatar do besides dance in silks on my sofa (yes I watched myself do this and got mesmerized by the flowy skirt and probably my physics).  Anyways, it's pretty cool and a lovely add to any abode, whether you twist your mesh wearing body or not.

I bought the feet from Slink, took me long enough.  I was pretty content to run around in bare feet but then I started seeing peeps wearing these cute sandals and when I went to buy them I realized that you had to have the feet too.  So I splurged and bought them.  I'm pretty happy.  The only two things I didn't really like were that the backs of the ankles were darker than the front of the ankle (the foot fit like a charm though, my goodness, it was awesome).  So I matched the skin in the front, but when i turned around it was a bit darker and you could see the line.  They give you socks to blend with I'll have to figure those out further, because they looked strange on me.  The other thing was my toenails had a rim of red around them.  It made me feel like I had inflamed toes.  Not a big deal as I dont sit and stare at my toes for hours.

Other than that I'm feeling cyber relaxed and callllm.....

This trenchcoat looks so tight on me.  And it makes my boobs look way bigger than they are.  But I like it.

Once upon a time all I owned were Dutch Touch skins.  Then skins started costing 75L, and I branched out.  I still appreciate my Dutchies though.  I love the way they make me look like I could care less, haha.

These are older Secret Store pants, but I really love the detail of the design, and it adds a touch of something to the outfit.  Something fun I suppose.  I don't know, I'm feeling uninspired today lol.

Post # 35 Glam Affair Skin

I splurged the other day on the new Giselle skin by Glam affair.  I had checked a demo because I had seen it reviewed on Gogo's blog and there seemed to be some issues.  When I put it on it actually didn't look too bad on me!  Perhaps my computer is less sensitive to colors or something but I matched pretty well.  I was really impressed with the nails.  Yes, such a small thing, but they looked really good.  I have a lot of poses that have my hands in strange positions and when I wear nails they never follow the hand.  So yeah, I didn't even use any of those poses here haha, but I will in the future, defo!  Jeez I have big hands because I used to buy a lot of Candy Nail and their sizes were always 20, and that's what my hands are, but my avatar got smaller over time and now I may be suffering a case of man hands haha.

My friend and I were messing around trying on mesh demos and she brought up an interesting dilemma, mesh jeans and boots.  They don't seem to go together too well.  I tried on the skinniest pair I had and put on a pair of boots and sure enough the pants were sticking out the sides.  I remembered the legwarmers at G.Fields that I saw a couple of weeks ago and thought that might work.  They did match pretty well, there were a few sticky outy spots but both of us girls bought a pair and after some fancy ankle fixin' we got it to look 'bootish', lol.

I blogged this top from Cold Logic before and I had to do it again in green.  I love this top.  It just looks so different and real.  The new hair I picked up from Elikatira worked really well with the outfit too.  I'm loving this look, even if it's a bit 'plain'....

Yesterday I went to TokiDoki for some reason or another, I think I got a notecard about some new items, and I totally fell in love with these chinos.  I'm starting to really regret ever getting into mesh clothes.  I had these fantastic pair from Mon Tissu that I loved and I was never gonna give them up, but dayum!  The three dimensional aspect of clothing is really appealing and kind of kills the whole painted on your body look no matter how damn great the artistry is.  I am now replacing my wardrobe and it's expensive!

I also picked up this bag at TokiDoki in one of their bazillion gatchas.  I always fall for bags and end up never wearing them, because I spend most of my time moving around, and the bags go in all kinds of crazy unnatural body impaling directions.  Unless they come with an animation where you are holding onto it for dear life, or its rigged to stick to your body.  The random prim ones are only good for photo ops.  It's such a nice bag though.

Went to Cold Logic and of course there were so many people there I mowed a few over and caused injuries I'm sure... But well worth the mayhem to pick up this new top.  I LURVE IT!  It's so mellow and well made.  And it's not just a top.  It has slits in the arms!  It has strings!  LoL.  This excites me.  It's absolutely something I would wear in the real world and I love finding something like that, yet get disappointed because I CAN'T find it in the real world.  Looked really sweet with the new necklace I picked up at Izzie's too.

This is my new fave.  Will wear it for a couple of days for sure!

After buying this lovely dress at Cold Logic I knew I wanted to find a place where the background would meld with the colors of the gown.  I'm a big brown/orange/moss green fan, and I just fell in love with the dress and the scenery of the sim Africa.

I found some great boots at G.Field and a lovely necklace at the Dressing Room to complete the look.  I love the way the drums and other thingie to the right work out with the dress.  I am still wondering why my face always looks deformed when I try different windlight settings with shadows.  Hmmm...

Post #14 Cheap vs. Expensive

 Wanted to get some mesh tube tops for my new Maitreya leggings.  I had two choices.  One for 75L at a sale, and one for 450L at a well known mesh store.

DEMO 1: (size large for me) were on sale so don't know what their regular price was, but even at 75L I still didn't buy one. The top didn't fit my shape very well and i felt it was a bit blocky.  

DEMO 2: on the other hand, (size small for me), hugged my curves and had fabulous detail. Loved the seams at the top and bottom of the shirt, loved the shadowing around the parts that looked bunched up.

DEMO 1: because I had to wear the large size my boobs were not big enough to fill the breast trough thing.  So you could see the clear space where the alpha was.  

DEMO 2: the top of the tube covered everything and fit perfectly!

Again, the DEMO 1 top was bulky in the back and seemed to stick into my mesh leggings.  I was not going to put on the xl to accomodate this as i might have looked pregnant by that point with missing breasts and nothing but empty clear space over my cleavage.  DEMO 2 looked fantastic, accentuating my behind and flowing nicely over my hips.  DEMO 2 also had a pattern on it.

So I decided to buy the DEMO 2 set, which also came with a jacket.  I did love the DEMO 1's trendy designs, but I wasn't going to look misshapen and have weird cleavage so I could have a cool picture on the front of my shirt.  Let's break down the prices and really see if buying "cheap" at sales is really worth the loss of quality in the end.

75L for a top that is just not the best fit (650 for a fatpack of 10, so 10L savings on 1)
450L for the tubetop & a jacket - since it's two pieces I would say it would be 225 for each piece (although jackets tend to run a bit more than tops do but meh, I'll half it).

I did buy the fatpack of the jacket/tube top set, it cost me 1,100L for four different colored sets.
That's 275L for a set.
Dividing that in half for the jacket and the tube top is approx 137L

So compare the two fatpack tops at the prices of 65L to 137L.  Is the 72L difference really worth it?

Now I know some people aren't as picky as me, and some people even have bigger boobs with narrower hips that might have fit the less expensive top better, I know that a lot of people don't have 1,100L to shell out for fatpacks.

This is just my opinion.  I believe if you invest in good pieces, and when you do find them get them in fatpacks to save money, you are doing pretty good for yourself.  With this set you can wear the tube top buy itself, the jacket by itself, even mix and match the different colors in the fatpack.  Classic, well fitted and slick.

It's your choice.

Post #12 Cold Logic Mesh Goodies~!

Fricking awesome new top at Cold Logic.  I got the notecard today of a new release and I teleported in and the place was packed!  I had just bought these new boots by Ten"10 and I wanted something to go with them!  So I fell just in total love with this cute top and the color matched perfectly.  I even got a compliment from a random stranger telling me they loved the look.  She had on another new release, which I bought too and will get to later.  Anywho, picked up a few things, this is my fave, and it fits perfectly and looks really great.  I'm a size small.  Oh yah, I read on Seraphim that su.vida was closing, I had never heard of it before but everything was 10L so of course... I picked up this dreamcatcher arm tattoo.  They had those template jeans there so I didn't buy any clothes.  Just tats.

 Of course when I enable my maximum graphic options on Starburst or whatever it's called (oh Firestorm I mean)... Shit gets 'real' and I can't move or click stuff without serious lag.  So what I have been doing is setting up my pose, and then clicking on 'enable deathly shadows'.  Of course stuff starts fading in and out and it takes like 20 seconds for the picture to snap, AND I don't seem to have the habit of checking pix I've taken so I end up finishing up my pix, changing into something else, looking at my pictures, realizing my tattoo and undershirt were blurry and the only pix that had them clear my eyes are closed... oy!  Of course it's too late to go back, as I am not standing in the same spot, I forgot what my lighting was at, and I really don't care by this point.
Boots are awesome though!  I asked a girl at Collabor88 where she got them.  I had seen quite a few chicks wearing these boots.  I got the brown ones cuz everyone else had the black or white ones.

The place I took pictures at was a really nice little coffee bar.  I was looking for a totally different place and ended up here by accident.  They had great music and lots of couches and chairs to hang out on.  It was empty but I'm sure they probably have some sort of action going on some time during the week.
